SHORTENING THE WAIT FOLLOWING SUSPENSION OF A DRIVING LICENCE
Actively shorten the waiting time before regaining your licence
Depending on the traffic offence that has been committed, the relevant court may suspend a driving licence and specify the suspension period, which is generally between 9 and 11 months. Three months before expiry of this period you can then apply for new issue of the driving licence from your driving licence authority.
Shortening the suspension period with avanti
Suspension of a driving licence is particularly difficult if the suspension period is long or if the licence is needed for work purposes. In such cases you should try to achieve a reduction as fast as possible.
Many courts permit a shortening of the suspension period if the driver can prove attendance at suitable training courses (and this does not only apply to driving under the influence of alcohol for the first time with less than 1.6 per mille). With avanti Nord-Kurs offers a relatively brief but targeted training course which communicates strategies for retaining your driving licence over the long term. At the same time, the course contributes to shortening of the licence suspension period, i.e. you can shorten your time without a licence by up to 3 months through participation in avanti.
If your licence has been suspended: apply for a reduction fast
If your licence has been suspended, you should speak to an attorney, the public prosecutor’s office or the court about a reduction as soon as possible. The possibility of a reduction will then be examined (this procedure can take some time).
If you would like to shorten the suspension period of your driving licence with the help of Nord-Kurs, we recommend that you first make an appointment with us for a driving licence advisory meeting. This meeting will clarify which avanti training will be the most effective in shortening the suspension period within your own particular situation. At the same time, you will also be able to find out if your driving licence can be restored after the end of the suspension period without the need for a medical-psychological examination (MPU).
